Visit the museum dedicated to the famous sharpening stone: coticule, its geology, its industrial history and traditional production techniques.

The Coticule Museum is housed in the old workshop where the razor‑stone was shaped, built in 1923 and in operation until 1955. The museum features two main sections: a geology hall explaining the Stavelot Massif and ancient rocks, and the original workshop with period machinery (saws, polishing, cutting, etc.), still operational.

You will learn how this yellowish stone, rich in microscopic garnets, was mined since the 16th century, how it was processed and exported worldwide, and what role it has played in the local heritage. The museum is open from April until All Saints’ season, with regular hours, and offers guided tours in several languages by appointment.
