Three distinguished museums housed in an ancient abbey: racing history, poetry, and regional heritage.

Stavelot Abbey, founded in the 7th century, is now a remarkable cultural hub. Most of the conventual buildings date from the 18th century and were restored in a classical style. The original medieval abbey church was destroyed following the French Revolution, but archaeological remains still testify to its monastic past.

Inside the abbey are three museums:

  • Spa‑Francorchamps Circuit Museum: located in the vaulted cellars of the abbey, it showcases the legendary circuit’s history with exceptional cars and motorcycles, rare documents, a scale model, and interactive exhibits.
  • Guillaume Apollinaire Museum: dedicated to the poet, highlighting his stay in the region and offering an artistic journey through his works.
  • Historical Museum of the Principality of Stavelot‑Malmedy / Espace Wibald: presents the principality’s deep history, its political and religious roles, local traditions, and uses multimedia displays to show how life in the region has evolved over time.

The abbey also features other attractions: a restored cloister, a garden, a shop, and a café. It is a lively venue, with temporary exhibitions, cultural events, concerts, and guided tours that let visitors dive into the historical, artistic and natural heritage of the region.
